Pam Horisberger completed her Veterinary course in 1985. She then went on to open her own clinic - Heathwylde Veterinary Clinic in 1986. The property had previously also been a clinic, but due to years of neglect had been very run down when she first purchased the property. There was a great deal of work involved getting the building to a running condition again, but Pam and her husband Andre worked together to clean, paint and get the new business going.

The clinic started as a small establishment in Boughton, with only a few clients in the local vicinity, but over the years, and through the power of word-of-mouth recommendations, the clinic now has over 5000 clients.
